This year’s participation is structured on multiple levels: the conference “Tools for the sustainable management of urban green areas”, an interactive setup dedicated to ecosystem benefits calculation, and the presentation of research projects that contribute to the continuous development of GreenSpaces, with a particular focus on the BioBox project.
A conference dedicated to the sustainable management of urban green areas
The central moment of R3GIS’s participation at Myplant & Garden 2026 is the conference:
Tools for the sustainable management of urban green areas
Thursday, 19 February 2025 | 14:00 – 15:30
Conference Room 20A – Hall 20
The conference offers a discussion among public bodies, professionals, and the research community on standards, digital tools, and concrete case studies supporting the sustainable management of urban green areas, with a focus on PEFC certification, biodiversity, and ecosystem services, starting from applied experiences and ongoing projects at national level.
The event is valid for CFP recognition for agronomists and foresters.
Talks at the booth: use cases and operational solutions
Throughout all days of the fair, R3GIS will host a series of short thematic talks at the booth, conceived as informal moments for in-depth discussion and direct exchange.
Topics include:
GreenSpaces for SMEs and small municipalities: simple and practical management of green assets | Iulia Klimina
greehill – Digital twins of trees: practical use in urban management | Paolo Viskanic
An interactive setup dedicated to ecosystem benefits
At the R3GIS booth, visitors will be able to explore directly how urban green data can be used to quantify and communicate environmental benefits. The aim is to make a topic often perceived as theoretical tangible, showing how ecosystem benefits calculation can become an integral part of management processes.
Research and development: the contribution of research projects
Among the projects presented, particular attention is given to BioBox, a project focused on the development of measures to protect biodiversity in urban contexts, with reference to pollinating insects, birds, and bats.
For R3GIS, research projects represent a structural element: they contribute to the development of new features, the improvement of calculation models, and an increasingly robust and scientifically grounded approach to urban green management.
Where to find us at the fair
During Myplant & Garden 2026, R3GIS will be located in Hall 20, booth A19/B20.
The booth will be the reference point for all activities proposed during the event: from thematic mini-lectures to in-depth insights on ecosystem benefits, through to direct discussion on research projects and digital solutions for green management.
The R3GIS team will be available for meetings, demonstrations, and discussions throughout all days of the fair.
