R3GIS Launches German Branch to Accelerate Growth Across the DACH Region

R3GIS, Italy’s leading provider of digital solutions for green space management, proudly announces the official founding of its German branch in Munich. This strategic milestone marks a significant step in R3GIS’s expansion plan to strengthen support for clients in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (the DACH region). With more than two decades of experience and a proven track record in delivering innovative platforms, such as GreenSpaces, WorkSpaces, and RoadSpaces, R3GIS is uniquely positioned to help municipalities, public administrations, and private enterprises throughout the DACH market manage green infrastructure, public assets, and road systems efficiently and sustainably.

Building on Two Decades of Excellence

Since its inception in 2004, R3GIS has become synonymous with smart and interoperable digital solutions that serves more than 250 cities and companies across Europe, with a particular focus on green infrastructure management through its flagship product, GreenSpaces. Over the years, R3GIS has evolved from a niche Italian software house into a fast-growing force in the broader European market.

Deepening DACH Market Presence

This new branch will enable R3GIS to:

  • Deliver Localized Support and Implementation: faster, in-country support, ranging from technical onboarding to on-site training, tailored to DACH clients’ regulatory frameworks and preferences.

  • Collaborate Closely with Regional Partners: have a close working relationship with existing and new commercial and technical partners to offer better support and integration.

  • Support DACH Municipalities and Companies with Green Maintenance: Urban green areas are more vital than ever, yet their maintenance has grown increasingly complex and resource-intensive. GreenSpaces is ready to empower municipalities and companies across DACH to simplify maintenance workflows, reduce operational challenges, and offer transparency to both administrators and citizens.

Comprehensive Product Suite

While GreenSpaces remains R3GIS’s flagship solution for green management, maintenance planning, and public participation, the company also offers other two comprehensive products:

WorkSpaces: an adaptable and  integrated and geo-referenced software platform: the perfect solution for organising and managing the maintenance of public and private assets efficiently and transparently.

RoadSpaces: a cutting-edge WebGIS tool tailored for the effective management and monitoring of traffic signs and other road-related information, making it the ideal solution for municipal authorities in charge of road and traffic safety.

Founder’s Vision

“R3GIS Germany is born!” said Paolo Viskanic, Founder and CEO of R3GIS. “Today, we founded R3GIS Germany in Munich with the goal of distributing our solutions, GreenSpaces, WorkSpaces, and RoadSpaces, even more broadly in Germany and the DACH region. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our partners who have represented us so far and with whom we will work even more closely in the future through our branch office.”

GreenSpaces in the DACH Context

GreenSpaces’s modular architecture, encompassing the METEO, BENEFITS, WATER, WORKS, and GREEN CITY modules, already addresses many of the environmental and safety requirements mandated by German, Austrian, and Swiss regulations. For instance:

Playground and Tree Inspections: GreenSpaces’s VSA (Visual Stability Assessment) workflows align with FLL Standard on tree safety, while its playground-inspection checklists comply with the European Standard EN 1176/1177.

Climate-Adaptation and Citizen Engagement: The GREEN CITY module’s public portal functionality enables municipalities to share real-time data on ecosystem services, fostering transparency and encouraging public involvement in green-space management.

Water‐Usage Monitoring: The WATER module’s algorithms calculate daily tree water requirements by combining species data, soil moisture metrics, and weather forecasts. This functionality helps DACH municipalities meet EU water-conservation targets and local standards for irrigation efficiency.
